I've used EduBlogs with students, as it's designed with students in mind. Plus, you can customize the headers in some of the templates, which allows you to make it more personal for your school or class.

Create your Own Challenge

Think about a topic you cover with your students. Pose a question or challenge for them based on the topic. You can have students attempt to find a specific site that you've already found- this tests their searching strategies. You can pose an open-ended question and have students support their answers with information they locate- this tests their searching, reading, and synthesizing skills. You can have students examine a bogus site (with or without telling them it's bogus)- this tests their use of website evaluation skills.

I'm looking for an interactive site to teach my class about how the human heart works. Use Google to search for a site that you think will do the job. Leave a comment, by clicking on "comments," that tells what your search terms were, what site you chose (include a link to the site), and why you chose it.
